Could Your Gut Be Causing Your Chronic Illness?

Do you struggle with fatigue and brain fog? Have you ever thought this might be caused by an imbalance in your gut? Often overlooked, the GI system is one of the most vital systems in your body. The gut is made up of bacteria called the microbiota or the gut microbiome. The microbiome is typically balanced in a healthy person and functions well. It helps our bodies to absorb and break down the foods that we're eating.

If our gut microbiome becomes imbalanced, it causes dysbiosis. When this occurs, the bacteria actually can cause harm to our bodies by affect how everything is functioning. This can make us more prone to chronic symptoms and illnesses. Since the gut is the cornerstone of our health it’s really important to pay attention to how well it’s functioning.

The standard American diet, however, is horrible for our gut and it often causes dysbiosis, which we don't always recognize. Many times our gut can compensate for a while, so it's really hard to pinpoint the trigger, but often it's related to diet or lifestyle. We begin to see chronic symptoms and illnesses when our gut can no longer compensate anymore.

As a woman, we are rushing around and busy all the time. We don't have much time to eat correctly or cook a good dinner or prepare our lunches. However, those things are all really important. We need to be aware of our gut and what we are putting into our bodies. One of the most common causes of fatigue and brain fog is an imbalance within your gut.
